Vintage Rose, 1 School Hill, Storrington

A delightful book shop and cafe with polka-dot tablecloths and attractive displays of goods for sale including jams and preserves. The cakes on display on the counter look delicious. There is a seasonal menu with everything prepared on-site using the freshest ingredients. Sandwich and cake platters are available to take away. Display slates on the wall show the range of food available. Lots of windows make this a light and airy place to sit and there is some outside seating. My caffe latte had a good froth, although the cappuccino was a little weak. Service was good.

Coffee Culture, 2 Angel Gate, Guildford GU1

Situated in a pretty cut-through between North Street and the High Street, Coffee Culture is a real treat. Its brightly painted frontage welcomes you in and, once inside, you will be tempted with delicious sounding treats such as Hazelnut Truffle Latte or Irish Cream Mocha. Although there is seating inside, on a fine day it’s great to sit outside where there are plenty of tables scattered down the alley. Hanging baskets and a flower stall make this a lovely place to sit and watch the world go by.
Their range of coffees is impressive and there is plenty of choice if you fancy a panini, bagel or homemade muffin. My cappuccino was smooth and mild, although the froth was a little loose. Orders are taken at the large glass counter and the chocolate sprinkles are do-it-yourself, so shake away!
I would definitely recommend a visit if you are in Guildford and will be going back to try some of their specialities.
