Fothergills Coffee Lounge, 24 St Martins Walk, Dorking
Sunday, March 28th, 2010
We walked into Fothergills and were immediately taken with the relaxed atmosphere and happy buzz from the customers.
Fothergills is spacious with exposed brickwork and mirrors. When we visited there were fresh flowers on the tables and counter which was a lovely touch. You can sit either on settees, at tables in comfy chairs or at the counter on bar-stools.
My cappuccino was served in a generous sized cup and was smooth, a decent strength and had a good froth on top.
Fothergills has an enticing menu offering light bites and a range of juices and soft drinks as well as various lattes, frappes and smoothies. They also serve afternoon tea.
I would definitely recommend this coffee lounge and hope to visit again very soon.

Amici, 18 High Street, Leatherhead
Thursday, March 18th, 2010
Not only a coffee shop, Amici sells a range of Italian foodstuffs including dried pasta, sauces, biscuits and coffee. For the hungry they serve various paninis, salads and cakes.
The service was very friendly and attentive and my cappuccino was hot without being overheated, although the froth was a bit disappointing.
There are a few tables outside on the High Street and a few more near the large glass counter in the front of the shop, but the majority of the seating is in a room out the back. Unfortunately this has a claustrophobic feel as the only window is quite high, so there is no view outside unless you are positioned where you can see through the doorway to the High Street.
